Welcome to Waikawa Bay School

We are very proud of our school and its place in our community. As a team, we all work hard to ‘Live and Learn The Waikawa Way - Kia Whakamiharo’

This is our vision statement and is what guides us in our words, actions, thoughts, beliefs, learning, and the choices we make in our everyday lives. It is what we aspire to to be 'honest (pono), kind (atawhai), respectful (manaaki) learners (ākonga)'.

‘The Waikawa Way’ encompasses our core values of Be Honest, Be Kind, Be Respectful and Be The Best You Can Be

‘The Way We Learn’ is our core business. At Waikawa Bay School, we learn by being self-managing, thinkers who are connected. We explored the qualities and skills that we want our children to possess so that they can thrive in their ever-changing and exciting future.

Programmes at our school focus on the learner as an individual and every child is valued. We strive to constantly improve and help each child work to achieve their potential. Our class groupings allow for collaborative planning between teachers and strong collegial support is a feature of our school. Quality e-learning is integrated across the curriculum.

Our spacious, tree filled grounds offers a magnificent play environment and opportunities for sport and recreation. Our refurbished classrooms provide stimulating learning environments for our students.

Parents of prospective students are welcome to call and visit or request further information about the school and its programmes.
